XI Quarterly is looking for two interns as the new publication grows. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience at the forefront of soccer journalism in North America. The interns will work virtually from their homes, maintaining contact with the XI team by email, chat, and Skype.
While there is no compensation for these position, they will provide excellent experience for someone looking to break into the world of North American soccer journalism. We want to find an intern who can commit 5-10 hours per week for a 6 month period. Questions about either of these positions should be sent to hello@xiquarterly.com.
Position #1: New Media and Communications Intern
Tasks for which the intern will be responsible:
- Communication with readers, suppliers, and distributors
- Development and execution of marketing strategies
- Contributions to the XI online presence (blog, tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook)
- Assistance with fulfillment of print and digital copies of XI Quarterly
Experience applicants will possess:
- Interest in North American soccer
- Excellent communications skills, especially in writing
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently on tasks

Position #2: Graphic Production Intern
Tasks for which the intern will be responsible:
- Assistance with the publication’s production, including layout and image preparation
- Production of marketing collateral, following guidelines set by the Art Director
- Editorial assistance in maintaining the identity of XI
- Contributions to the XI online presence (blog, tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook)
Experience applicants will possess:
- Interest in North American soccer
- Excellent skills in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop programs
- Print production experience
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently on tasks
